Happy New Year!!!

Well New Years eve was a good laugh!
My house always seems mad when we have guests, it makes my boys that little bit crazier than usual. I'm glad we were at home as I would probably have been stressing so much about the level of excitement (like mega hyper) and the noise. It's always nice when you are surrounded by people who know your family best, none of that pretence crap. Crazy Carol Cake and I have compared our challenges and I was pleasantly surprised by the similarities.

My challenges are a mixture of longer and short term goals, doing a bit for myself and for others. I may need some help and recommendations on the way, so feel free to drop me a message... I am going to try to keep a journal too, so that I have pictures and reminders of my 365 days along with any other memorable moments.

Here's to 2017, may it bring plenty of good health and happiness!!

Brain Fart!!

It's New Years Eve, so been busy thinking about my 40 challenges. I lay in bed last night reading positive quotes and memes to spur me on as I really want to make sure that the New Year starts off the way I would like it to. I found some really good quotes, so I may add them as I go along.

I don't know about you, but when i'm in the shower it is probably one of the only times that I have to myself to think in peace. I had all sorts of things buzzing through my head this morning (bit like a huge brain fart, so I was probably pulling one of 'those' concentration faces), making sure I was happy with my 40 challenges and why each one is important to me. I was kind of worrying about getting all of my ideas written down and acknowledging the reasons and people behind them, so I definitely think I should use my paper diary as well.

I am starting this challenge with my good friend Carol, who is also 40 this year, we had this crazy idea over several cups of tea a few weeks ago. I'm sure she won't mind me saying this but she is one crazy and determined lady too, so i'm glad to have her with me on this.  We have already proved  that anything is possible with belief in yourself, even when there is someone saying 'there's not enough time, no way you can do that'.

I shall be ready and raring, with a hopefully slightly drunken energy tonight when midnight strikes... Bring on 2017!

List of 40 challenges

Ok, so I now have 40 challenges on my list.
I started my list a couple of weeks ago and have been adding ideas as I have thought of them or they have been suggested by friends and family. I have tried to add challenges that are realistic and achievable, with a mixture of sanity savers and sanity breakers.... I am quite good at trying new things and pushing myself out of my comfort zone most of the time, but I'm also usually quite a private person so this is probably the most difficult part sharing my thoughts etc in a blog. I feel this is a good opportunity to be brave and be positive as my teens and 20s were shit and my 30s have mostly been a steady improvement, so 40 onwards should be a laugh. I'm hoping that going back to work in February after maternity leave doesn't pee on my parade though.
It all seems quite exciting, even though I know that some of the challenges may seem quite lame or outrageous/ ambitious to others.
I am going to keep the list to myself for now, just I case I have any last minute changes. This is my last chance to pluck up courage or chicken out!
Feel free to suggest any ideas as I will finalise my list on New Years Eve.

Getting ready for New year

Hey!
I'm new to all of this, so I have absolutely no idea whether this is even going to work... Talk about laying yourself bare for all to read!
Any hints and tips would be appreciated.

I am just 8 days off my big 40th birthday, making a big list of 40 things to achieve within the year... some are relatively simple to achieve, others I may need some help with. I am hoping to keep track of the trials and successes in my journey and share for all to see just how much of a dufus I am. Feel free to share my journey, it can't all be bad turning 40 can it?
